Short Film: "The Present" - A Delightful Short with Lots of Heart

Since it's a short, a traditional plot summary would give away the whole thing - so just watch it!  From the video description we learn that, 

“The Present” is a thesis short from the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg, Germany" and is based on a comic strip by Fabio Coala.

Why It Makes My List:

A pleasant, altogether delightful short film that inspires us to be kind, optimistic, loving and friendly, in spite of whatever challenges we may face. 

Other Reasons to Watch:

1. Pleasant, Carefree Music: The score does a great job representing the emotions of the two principal characters, which evolve throughout the film.
2. Effective Animation: The facial expressions of the two characters do most of the talking in this film and the quality of the animation enables the creators to tell a simple, yet touching story.

Reason to Pass:

1. Short Films are Not ... Long Films: This isn't a feature film so don't expect it to occupy your whole evening or have a lengthy, compelling story arc.
